It’s one of the biggest days of the St Saviours College calendar – Harmony Day.
The festivities transformed the college’s hall on Thursday with more than 30 cultures celebrated with a range of performances, food and singing.
Principal Sharon Collins said the school had students from right across Queensland, as well as girls from refugee and migrant backgrounds.
“Really, the day is about inclusivity – young women being proud about where they come from.
“It just makes sense to celebrate.”
The hall was buzzing as students shared their culture via food stalls and through song and dance.
“It’s one of our biggest days of the year, and it’s all student-led,” Mrs Collins said.
Harmony Day celebrates Australia’s incredible cultural diversity and is typically held on March 21.
