Gleeson Building Group plans to build new a new structure at the Cooyar Showgrounds to house toilets, a canteen and office for use by the Cooyar Agricultural Society.
According to the report by Precinct Urban Planning, the facilities will also be used by other community groups for fundraising opportunities.
“The building will provide additional amenities to remove the need to hire port-a-loos, a new canteen to eventually replace an ageing canteen in a nearby building, and provide office and storage space,” the report said.
“It is noted that the proposed building will not result in an increase in patronage or events to be held at the Cooyar Showgrounds, and on that basis will not result in a discernible change in traffic generation to and from the subject site.”
The Cooyar Show celebrated 71 years in February.
The council has yet to respond to the application with a request for more information.
