Families brave heat at Baillie Henderson to raise funds for Toowoomba Hospital Foundation

Even the scorching weekend conditions weren’t enough to deter heaps of families and residents from taking part in the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation’s annual Reindeer Run.
The fundraising event at Baillie Henderson was completed by dozens of people, with all money going towards buying a new anaesthetics machine at the Toowoomba Hospital.
THF corporate partnerships officer Dan Stewart said the fun run was a great opportunity to see the community giving back to the hospital.
“We have a new theatre at the campus, but it requires an anaesthetic machine to have its full functioning capabilities, so we’re raising funds to purchase that for the Toowoomba Hospital,” he said.
“We’ve got a range of people that come to events such as this — we’ve got beautiful little reindeer and some jolly Santa Clauses.
“We’ve got multiple courses out there today — we’ve got a 10km run for our more professional participants, followed by a 5km run and then a 2.5km walk for the more socially-oriented participants.
“It’s wonderful, we see all shapes and sizes that come out to support our events, which is a tremendous thing.”
