A record crowd for opening night filed through this year’s Christmas Wonderland in Queens Park on Saturday night.
Marshall Cox of the Lions Club of Toowoomba West, which runs the display, said just over 3500 people attended to view the spectacular exhibits.
“We’re very pleased with the public response,” he said.
“For a gold coin entry, there’s free ice cream and popcorn for the kids and free coffee and cake for the adults.
“Christmas Wonderland is open from 7pm to 10pm each night until Christmas Eve when we will close at 9pm.”
The beneficiaries of this year’s Christmas Wonderland are the Toowoomba Hospice, the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation and Lifeline Darling Downs.
Mr Cox said they were short of volunteers and asked anyone who could spare a few hours to help out to go the website christmaswonderland.com.au
