Kirwan’s Darryl Serrurier has been a diehard Cowboys fan since the beginning, with a man cave filled with Cowboys merchandise and memorabilia to back it up. Check out his impressive collection.

Townsville’s Darryl Serrurier bleeds yellow and blue, with an man cave full of memorabilia to back it up at his Kirwan home.

As one of the city’s biggest Cowboys supporters he is stoked to see the boys in the finals and believes they can go all the way.

A fan since the club’s inception in 1995, Mr Serrurier starting collecting merchandise for his man cave around five years after the Cowboys began.

“We first starting buying odd and ends and collecting the free stuff we were given at the games and it built up into the man cave,” he said.

“When people found out I had the man cave, they started giving me stuff and gifting me things and it’s growth since then.”
A passionate supporter, he has been to every Cowboys Grand Final and still remembers the first ever game.

“It was rainy and we were sitting on the hill and we started sliding down,” he said.

With posters, jerseys, hats, stubby holders and more on display in his man cave, Mr Serrurier said one of his favourite items is a pair of footy boots gifted from a player.

“I light up my house at Christmas time with lights and Jack Granville turned up with his youngsters,” he said.

“I asked if he wanted to come and have a look at the man cave. He came in and said it was impressive and asked if there was anything I wanted.

“I said I haven’t got a pair of footy boots, he said he would contact the club and organised a pair to be waiting there for me.”
On being the biggest Cowboys fan, Mr Serrurier said he is humble about his passion.

“My wife is the one that says to people when they say they are the biggest Cowboys fan, ‘do you want to compete with my husband?’”

Excited to watch the game against Cronulla, he says there’s no doubt the boys will take the win.

“It’s like 2015 happening again. It was this game in 2015 that we played Cronulla and beat them and that allowed us to make our way into the Grand Final.” he said.

“I’ve got belief in them that they are going to win this.”

On his favourite players, Mr Serruier said Valentine Holmes and Kyle Feldt are up there, with one key player set to ‘make all the difference’ in the upcoming game.

“Tommy (Dearden) is going to carve them up.”

With family and friends planned to come over and watch the game, Mr Serrurier’s man cave is the place to watch the action.
