AS THE Toowoomba Second Range Crossing takes shape, members of the business community are waiting for answers on a key question - the toll price.

Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce CEO Jo Sheppard said members of the chamber were "holding their breath" for an announcement from the State Government.

"I think that's a fair request from the business community, so that people who are going to be using that road can factor in price," she said.

Mrs Sheppard, along with business representatives and media, toured key parts of the $1.6 billion project on Wednesday afternoon.

"There's a lot happening from a visual perspective which is really good for us, as the community to see the infrastructure taking form," she said.

"It seems like a long time for a lot of the people in the business community but it's great to see it coming to fruition and you can really see it taking shape."
