Chamber launches 'Open for Business' list online

TOOWOOMBA Chamber of Commerce has launched a one-stop list of all the businesses in town that are still open.

TOOWOOMBA Chamber of Commerce has launched a one-stop spot for all the businesses in town that are still open.

With huge numbers of businesses closing because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce has launched the "Open for Business" directory. 

Chamber CEO Todd Rohl said his organisation had been inundated with a number of people wanting to know what businesses were open. 

"So as this COVID-19 (pandemic) has extended, the process really started initially with hospitality, primarily cafes and restaurants. And now it's been extended to professional services and small businesses and the like," he said.

"So it's just getting bigger all the time. And it was really in response to people wanting one central location where they could find what was open and what wasn't."

Mr Rohl said he hoped the listing would continue to grow as the business community sent in more details about who was still operating.

"We'll continually add onto it and hopefully we'll see people supporting each other."
