A gas truck and a white Toyota Camry sedan have collided on a major range road south of Cairns.

Emergency services were called to the Gilles Range Road at 2.43pm after reports a gas truck and sedan had collided approximately three kilometres up the range.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman confirmed that a gas truck was involved in the incident but there was no risk of its contents leaking.

“There was no damage to the truck so there is no concern of any leak or contamination causing any further hazards,” the spokeswoman said.

“All occupants were able to self extricate with no major injuries, the truck is still drivable and we are just waiting on a tow vehicle to clear the lane.”

The spokeswoman confirmed the range is reduced to one lane.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said ambulance officers were assessing one occupant in a stable condition at the scene.

The Queensland Traffic website advises that lanes are reduced with delays expected in both directions.
