A man is in police custody and is assisting police with inquiries following a house fire in Tully on Tuesday night, however no charges have been laid.

Authorities confirmed multiple Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crews responded to reports of a house fire at a Murray Street address at 10.30pm.

“The second story of the property was well involved. Essentially the upper floor would have been fully involved in the fire with visible flame coming from that level,’ a QFES spokeswoman confirmed.

“It looks like everyone was accounted for and the fire was out by 11.17pm,” the spokeswoman said.

Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed two people were transported uninjured to Tully Hospital in a stable condition.

Queensland Police Service confirmed a 47-year-old Tully man, believed to be one of the residents, was assisting police with inquiries.
