After years of development and a $750,000 investment, a Cairns fabrication business has unveiled a groundbreaking new-generation ute tray design.

Norweld’s first new ute tray release in three years is now on the market and represents the very best in Australian design, material quality and cutting-edge manufacturing.

A Cairns success story, Norweld last year expanded to meet growing demand to open purpose-built facilities in Brisbane and Perth.

The company added more than 35 new staff after enjoying a 20 per cent year-on-year growth rate.

Cairns-based Norweld director Jaime McIntosh said the new ute tray allowed vehicle owners to take their off-road experience to the next level.

“Our new elite tray is the result of many years of hard work, investment in innovative equipment and manufacturing techniques, and feedback gathered from thousands of Norweld customers who put our products to the test every day,” Mr McIntosh said.

“The elite tray has been designed to take that experience to the next level, offering a sleek, modern design that’s made to thrive in any environment and offer practical functionality that ute owners need.”

Norweld guarantees a lifetime warranty on the workmanship of its aluminium fabricated products - a guarantee that the company claims is put to the test in real world environments by thousands of customers covering more than 100 million kilometres every year.

Given booming sales of dual cab utility vehicles throughout Australia last year Norweld expected that demand for trays and canopies will keep pace with solid new car sales.

“Our focus is to continue developing new and improved solutions for our customers, grow our network of local branches and invest in growing fleet markets to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible for Norweld and the four-wheel-drive industry,” Mr McIntosh said.

Partnering with Australia’s automotive accessory fitters and vehicle manufacturers, Norweld can offer four-wheel-drive enthusiasts the complete camping, touring, agriculture and fleet solutions for even the toughest off-road conditions.
