Named: Kewarra Beach man charged with stalking and assault

A Kewarra man faced Cairns Magistrates Court on February 7 charged with seven offences including stalking.

Police allege Michael Richard O’Shane, 33, planted tracking devices in a woman’s car.

Police allege he assaulted the woman at Kewarra Beach on December 14 last year.

He was arrested on February 5 and held in custody until his court appearance before Magistrate James Morton.

As well as stalking, he faces three charges of common assault, one charge of using threats, violence or discharging firearm, and two charges of wilful damage.

Mr O’Shane was remanded in custody with the matters adjourned to March 20.
