The Cairns North woman accused of the attempted murder of her mother outside the Crystalbrook Riley hotel has been committed to stand trial.

In November 2022 police declared a crime scene on the Cairns Esplanade after 20-year-old Isabella Aneta Cisarova allegedly stabbed her 39-year-old mother with a sharp edge bladed weapon.

At the time a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the alleged victim was taken to Cairns Hospital in serious condition with lacerations to her throat.

On Thursday before Justice Jim Henry in the Cairns Supreme Court Crown prosecutor Rachel Boivin told the court some witnesses to the incident were tourists and had returned overseas.

She indicated it may take some time to get them back in the country for the trial and an interpreter would need to be arranged.

Ms Boivin told the court five to six days would be required for the trial.

Monday July 29 was set down tentatively as the beginning of the trial, however Justice Henry told Ms Boivin that date could be shifted to accommodate the availability of international witnesses.

Barrister Tim Grau representing Ms Cisarova said the defence would also require an interpreter when the matter came to trial later this year.

Ms Cisarova was taken into custody at the scene of the alleged stabbing and has been held by Queensland Corrective Services since November 2022.
