Car crashes towing cherry picker near Cardwell

The Bruce Highway has reopened after previously being closed by a crash involving a car towing a mobile cherry picker.

The Bruce Highway has reopened after previously being closed by a crash involving a car towing a mobile cherry picker.

At about 10am emergency services were called to the incident on the Cardwell Range at Damper Creek, just south of Cardwell.

The crashed vehicle has halted traffic in both directions and lines of traffic have banked up to the north and south.

No serious injuries were been reported.

A Queensland Police Service said the crash was considered a low priority but a patrol car has been sent to the scene.

“(Transport and Main Roads) is going to send a Roadtek crew to help with traffic control,” he said.

At the time of the crash debris on the road in the vicinity of Rungoo has been reported and Queensland Traffic has advised motorists to proceed with caution
