A man has been taken to hospital and a teenage girl has been charged following an alleged stabbing.
A 16-year-old girl has been charged after allegedly stabbing a 59-year-old White Rock man with a pair of scissors following an alleged heated argument between the pair.
Police confirmed the two were known to each other, adding the alleged incident took place at a White Rock home around 2pm on Thursday.
Police provided first aid to the man before he was taken to Cairns Hospital for further treatment.
The teen allegedly resisted arrest while kicking and punching at a police officer but did not seriously harm the officer.
She was charged with one count each of common assault, wounding and assaulting police and is due to appear in Cairns Childrens Court.
