A western Sydney grocer has been set alight for the third time in less than two months.
Emergency services were called to Mount Pritchard Supermarket on Meadows Rd in Mount Pritchard just after 2am on Friday to reports of a single-vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, police found a black sedan had crashed into the storefront and been set slight.
The driver is understood to have fled the scene.
Residents in apartments nearby were woken to a loud noise, the third incident involving the supermarket since April.
“It’s the third time the store has been targeted in six weeks,” one resident told Daily Mail Australia.
“There was a huge boom that shook my house.
“I went outside to investigate and witnessed a car had been rammed through the store’s roller door and set alight.
“There were many explosions and people screaming.”
At least one person living above the store was evacuated onto the street, the woman said.
The fire was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW within 40 minutes, but the store was extensively damaged.
Police confirmed no injuries were reported.
Petrol was poured on the front of the supermarket and ignited on April 25 before the supermarket went up in flames again a month ago on May 6 when a ute crashed into the shop and was set alight.
It is not confirmed whether the three incidents are linked.
Anyone with information about the crime has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
