A man has been arrested after spending hours allegedly barricaded inside a home with a woman.
Victoria Police were called to the Horne Square home in Corio, Geelong, after reports of a possible firearms incident about 11.30am on Sunday.
When officers arrived at the property, a 24-year-old Newcomb man and a woman allegedly barricaded themselves inside the house and refused to engage with police.
The woman left the home about 3pm uninjured and is assisting police with their inquiries.
Critical Incident Response Team negotiators were called to help to make contact with the man.
He has since been arrested without incident and is also assisting police with inquiries.
Police stated there is nothing to suggest a firearms incident occurred but investigations are ongoing.
A number of surrounding streets were cordoned off, and police ask that the area be avoided.
