Tragedy as girl, 5, dies in crash near Toowoomba under investigation

A young girl has tragically died after a collision involving two vehicles near Toowoomba, sparking a police investigation.

A five-year-old girl has tragically died following a two-vehicle crash south of Toowoomba on Saturday morning.

The child was a passenger in a gold Subaru Outback that collided with a blue Ford Ranger at the intersection of Drayton Connection Rd and Luck Rd in Vale View about 11.40am.

The child died in the crash near Toowoomba.

She was rushed to Toowoomba Base Hospital but later died from her injuries.

The Subaru’s driver, a 64-year-old local woman, and a second child passenger were also taken to hospital for treatment.

The Ford Ranger’s driver, a 19-year-old man from Spring Mountain, was taken to hospital as a precaution. Two 18-year-old passengers in his vehicle were uninjured.

Police are investigating and have urged anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to contact police.
