Peak hour commuters faced delays after a man on the tracks stopped trains travelling through Sydney’s key Redfern station.

Police were called to the station after the man was spotted at 3pm on Tuesday.

Several train lines – including the T1, T2, T3, T8 and T9 – pass through Redfern, and Transport for NSW warned of delays in both directions.

T9SydneyTrains (@T9 Sydney Trains) posted: Allow extra travel time due to an incident requiring emergency services at Redfern. Trains may stop on platforms or between stations for longer than normal while the incident is ongoing. Please listen for announcements and check information screens before getting on trains
