Revamped Juicy Fruit and P.K gum recipe officially hits supermarket shelves

A major confectionary company has officially launched a new version of two of Australia’s most popular chewing gums.

Can chewing gum help you look younger?

Two popular chewing gum products have finally hit the shelves after a major change to their ingredient list.

Juicy Fruit and P.K chewing gum will no longer contain any sugar as Mars Wrigley expands its range of sugar-free gum.

Mars Wrigley Australia marketing director Ben Hill said the move was all about evolving the brands and improving oral health benefits for fans of the beloved products.

“The move to sugar-free recipe not only reflects the changing demands and feedback we have been receiving from our consumers, but it also provides the added benefits that sugar-free gum provides for our oral health, including neutralising plaque acids and preventing stains,” Mr Hill said.

“We conducted extensive research and testing of the sugar-free recipe to get the flavour compound and the fruit flavour taste as close to the original flavour as possible, and we believe our R&D team has done an incredible job in the evolution of the recipes.”

The announcement comes after concerned shoppers noticed the products were missing from supermarket shelves earlier this year.

At the time, a Mars Wrigley spokesperson said they believed the company had “pretty much nailed” the new sugar-free recipe.

Juicy Fruit was first created in 1893 and features a combination of banana and tropical flavours.
