One woman has died and 10 others have been injured after a horror crash on a busy freeway in Brisbane’s northern suburbs.
Police say the woman’s Honda Odyssey and a Hyundai Imax were stationary in the shoulder of the right-hand lane on Gympie Arterial Rd at Bald Hills at about 9.40pm on Sunday, when a Toyota Hiace van crashed into the vehicles from behind.
The woman driving the Honda Odyssey died at the scene.
Three people were rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, with another seven hospitalised in stable conditions.
The forensic crash unit are now investigating the fatal crash.
“Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the moments leading up to the crash, or anyone with dashcam footage, to contact investigators,” a statement from the Queensland Police Service said.
