Man charged after road worker critically injured in alleged hit and run

A Brisbane man has been charged with a string of serious offences after an alleged hit and run incident earlier this month.

A Brisbane man has been charged over an alleged hit and run south of Brisbane that left a road worker fighting for his life.

A 66-year-old road worker was seriously injured after he was struck by a car at Cedar Vale, in Logan, on September 4.

Emergency services were called to Mount Lindesay Highway after reports the car had struck the road worker before speeding from the scene.

The road worker was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said he remains in hospital in a stable condition.

A white Toyota Corolla was found burnt out in nearby Munruben.

On Saturday, Queensland Police said a 33-year-old Algester man has been charged over his alleged involvement in the incident.

He has been charged with six offences including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing grievous bodily harm, driver failing to remain at incident and render assistance, and arson.

He was denied bail and will appear in Richlands Magistrates Court on November 24.
