Man, 18, charged with affray after alleged vicious stabbing outside Westfield in Mt Druitt, Sydney

A man has been charged following an alleged stabbing incident outside a Sydney Westfield shopping centre which left two hospitalised.

A man has been charged over an alleged stabbing incident outside a Sydney Westfield shopping centre which left two hospitalised.

Emergency services were called to the centre at Mt Druitt on about 5.15pm on Tuesday following reports of a group of men fighting.

A NSW Police spokesperson said police were told a group of males, believed to be known to each other were involved in a brawl before the injuries were inflicted.

Officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command attended and found a 17-year-old boy and a 22-year-old man had suffered stab wounds.

They were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital where they remain in a stable condition.

Police quickly established a crime scene in the aftermath of the incident.

Following inquiries, an 18-year-old man was arrested in North Rooty Hill at around 4pm on Wednesday.

NSW Police said the man was arrested by detectives from Strike Force Leeman before he was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station.

The man has since been charged with affray and will front Parramatta Local Court on Thursday.

Police will allege in court the 18-year-old man was known to the boy and the man who sustained stab wounds.
