Lucky punter claims $30m in major Powerball prize win

One extremely lucky person woke up with a fatter wallet after scoring the winning ticket in Thursday night’s Powerball, pocketing a cool $30m prize.

One lucky person has drawn the lucky combination in Thursday night’s Powerball Lotto, pocketing a cool $30m.

The winning Powerball numbers were 26, 22 7, 35, 1, 11, 25. The Powerball was 3.

This week’s winner is only the latest Aussie to become an overnight multi-millionaire, with a string of enormous windfalls of up to $100m already on the books for 2025.

Thursday night’s draw will still bring a bright end to the week for dozens more Aussies, including another 26 winners who will take home a $23,000 share of the division two prize and a further 70 people who won more than $10,700 in the division three draw.

Earlier this month, a lucky punter took home the $60m Powerball jackpot and couldn’t contain their excitement upon hearing the news late on Thursday evening.

“Oh wow! You’re kidding. No way,” the Queensland retiree told The Lotto officials.

“It’s after 9pm but this calls for a bottle of champagne!

“Is that real? I can’t stop laughing. Holy sh*t! I’ve won $60m?

“Now my wife can’t stop laughing, too. She’s in shock!” he added.

The win was literally a dream come true for the winner.

“No joke, I was just drifting off to sleep dreaming abut what it would be like to win the lotto – all the things I could do,” the man said.

When it comes to his winnings, the man said he’d “be able to help a lot of people”, including his kids and “plenty of friends doing it tough”.

In February, a Sydney woman took home the entire $100m Oz Lotto prize, becoming the biggest winner in the lotto’s history.

The Lismore woman discovered her enormous jackpot win after falling asleep watching TV.

“That’s crazy! I just finished watching tonight’s episode of Married At First Sight and I was falling asleep as you called me,” she told The Lott officials.

The next Powerball lotto will be drawn on Thursday, March 6, with a $10m prize.
