Police have launched an investigation after Marbles was snatched from a car that was parked outside a home in an affluent suburb in Melbourne.

A distraught owner has called for community assistance in finding Miniature Pomeranian, Marbles, after the pup was pinched from a parked car in an affluent Melbourne suburb.
The eight-year-old pet was secured inside a canvas crate on the front seat of an unlocked Grey Kia Sportage, parked on O’Connor St near Lygon St in Brunswick East.
Police believe the offender accessed the stationary vehicle and removed Marbles sometime between noon and 12.30pm on Wednesday.
Marbles is tan in colour and was wearing a red collar at the time of her disappearance.
Investigations into the Brunswick East dognapping are ongoing, with investigators releasing an image of the pup in the hopes a member of the community may be able to provide information to assist with her recovery.
Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident, has CCTV or further information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Marbles’ owner, Christine, is set to speak to the media later on Thursday morning.
