Enzo’s Ristorante in Hindmarsh will go out with a celebration dinner on Saturday May 4.

Owner Enzo Fazzari said the lease for the famed Italian restaurant was expiring and “after 25 years the time was right to move on.”

“I am very thankful for the incredible journey we’ve shared at Enzo’s Ristorante,” Mr Fazzari told the Adelaide Advertiser.

“To my wife Teresa, daughter Natalie, son Anthony, our staff and valued patrons, you have been the heart of this wonderful restaurant, and I am so grateful for the experiences we have shared and wonderful memories.”

Mr Fazzari said he was announcing the end of the era with a “heavy heart”.

“Tears may mark the end of this chapter, but it’s with gratitude and anticipation that I look forward to the future,” says Enzo.

Mr Fazzari won’t be giving up cooking though.

He will be working with his sons on the ready made food business.

“I am excited about what the next chapter holds for Enzo’s and the future development of our brand.”

Enzo’s Ristorante has won a number of awards over the years, including Awards of Excellence from Savour Australia.

Patrons from over the years have reacted with plaudits for Mr Fazzari.

“We have booked in for the last supper!!!’ A few of us will celebrate the absolute end of an Adelaide icon,” one said.

“Restaurants come and go, some don’t go soon enough. Enzo’s is not one of them. All the best for what’s ahead, enjoy the extra time with family in their new ventures but try and enjoy doing not much now and again also. Thanks for all the great meals,” another said.
