Emergency services assessing multiple people who were swept out to sea at Point Lonsdale
Emergency services have rushed to Point Lonsdale after more than a dozen people were rescued after they were swept out to sea.

Emergency services have rushed to Point Lonsdale where multiple people involved in a water incident are being assessed by paramedics.
Police confirmed about 18 swimmers and kayakers were swept out to sea and had to be rescued just after 11.30am on Saturday.
Police Air Wing, Lifesaving Australia and the coast guard rushed to the area along with the Water Police and local officers.
“All were recovered from the water and received medical treatment at the scene,” a police spokesperson said.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said they was called to reports of a water incident at Point Lonsdale, about 30kms south of Geelong, around 11:45am on Saturday.
A spokesperson said multiple people were assessed at the scene, but no one was transferred to hospital.
The Herald Sun reported Air Ambulance helicopters were seen hovering around the Point Lonsdale Lighthouse car park.
