Beau Lamarre-Condon: Police reveal timeline of alleged double murders of Jesse Baird, Luke Davies

Police have revealed a 000 call was made from Jesse Baird’s phone four minutes after gunshots were heard at the TV presenter’s Sydney house.

Police continue search for Jesse Baird and Luke Davies, citing 'gap in the timeline'

Someone made a triple-0 call from the phone of TV presenter Jesse Baird minutes after the first shots were fired inside his Sydney home during an alleged double murder last week.

The revelation was among several bombshell details uncovered as part of the investigation into Mr Baird and his partner Jesse Davies’ alleged killing at the hands of a serving NSW Police officer.

Police allege one of its own, Beau Lamarre-Condon, made “partial admissions” to a friend about his involvement in the alleged shooting murders on February 19.

Assistant Commissioner David Hudson told media on Monday it was unclear who made the call, which came through soon after gunshots were reportedly heard by neighbours of Mr Baird’s Paddington home.

“Four minutes after the shots were fired, there was a triple-0 call made from Jesse’s phone, however it disconnected,” he said.

“Nothing was said or heard from my understanding … very brief.”

The bodies of former Channel 10 presenter Mr Baird, 26, and his Qantas flight attendant partner Mr Davies, 29, have still not been found, with police divers searching a farm with multiple dams in Bungonia, regional NSW today.

Constable Lamarre-Condon, 28, has not assisted police since turning himself in on Friday morning, with detectives set to interview him again today.

Police now believe the celebrity blogger-turned-cop may have moved the bodies several times in the days before he resurfaced.

Asst Commissioner Hudson outlined the timeline investigators have pieced together as they build their case against Constable Lamarre-Condon.

He revealed neighbours in Brown St, Paddington have now reported hearing gunshots about 9.50am on Monday, February 19.

That had not been reported to police at the time and the number of shots fired is yet to be determined.

Police will allege in court Constable Lamarre-Condon signed out a service weapon from Miranda police station on Thursday, February 22 – four days before the alleged murders – and returned it the day after it was allegedly used to kill Mr Baird and Mr Davies.

On Tuesday text messages were allegedly sent from Mr Baird’s phone to his housemates purporting that he was moving to Perth and instructing them to sell his possessions or put them in storage.

Police allege the messages were sent by Constable Lamarre-Condon, Mr Baird’s former boyfriend, who had previously displayed “predatory” behaviour during their on-and-off relationship which ended late last year.

Asst Commissioner Hudson also alleged the accused killer purchased an angle grinder and padlock on Wednesday from a local hardware store before driving to the rural property.

“The angle grinder was used to sever a padlock from the gate of that particular rural property and subsequently that padlock was replaced with a padlock purchased from the hardware store,” he alleged.

Constable Lamarre-Condon is alleged to have left the friend at the gate for up to half an hour as he drove the van into the property.

He and the acquaintance, who has not been named, then allegedly returned to Sydney later that afternoon.

The acquaintance was labelled as a “long term friend” of the accused who was unaware of why they made the journey.

She is not accused of wrongdoing and was described as an “innocent agent”.

Police believe Constable Lamarre-Condon, “suspicious” of what his friend might have known, returned to the property alone later to move the bodies.

At 11pm on Wednesday, police allege weights were purchased from a department store.

“It is believed that the accused returned to that rural property during – overnight and during that evening, having acquired two torches from the acquaintance,” Asst Commissioner Hudson said.

“We can indicate at 4.30am on Thursday morning, we can place the accused leaving the Bungonia area again.

“It would appear that the accused has remained in the city area, still in control of the white Hiace van, before attending a further acquaintance’s premises in the Newcastle area and without fully disclosing any criminality, asked access to a hose to clean that van.

“The accused remained in the Newcastle area until about 5:00am, returning to the city at about 6.15am on Friday morning.

“Later that morning at 10.39 he surrendered himself to Bondi police station where he was arrested and subsequently charged and placed before the court.”

Asst Commissioner Hudson told media investigators had come to learn Mr Lamarre-Condon did not disclose his employment to his friends.

“There were many people that we have spoken to were unaware that he was a police

officer,” he said.

It was also alleged Mr Lamarre-Condon had previously used a key to access Mr Baird’s home where he deleted messages and contacts from his ex-boyfriend’s phone.

Asst Commissioner Hudson could not confirm reports Mr Baird had told police about a break-in at his home in August.

A review into how Constable Lamarre-Condon was allegedly able to retain possession of his service weapon for several days is underway.

Commissioner Karen Webb said it was a “failure” if a police officer used their weapon in the way it has been alleged the accused police officer did.

“We have robust policies and procedures as outlined by Mr Hudson. But if there is a gap and an opportunity to improve our systems, we will do that,” she said.
