ATM found on rural road after alleged theft in ram raid of South Australian pub

An ATM stolen in an alleged ram raid of a pub has turned up in a bizarre location 24 hours after it vanished.

An ATM has been found dumped on a dirt road after it was allegedly stolen from a South Australian pub.

Surveillance footage released by police shows a white Mazda reversed into the front doors of a Cudlee Creek pub at 4.30am on Saturday.

A second shot shows the car speeding away from the pub before glass and debris explodes from the crumbling facade.

Two figures wearing black can be seen loading a DC ATM into the boot of the car before driving away from the business.

A car – believed to be the getaway vehicle – was located on fire 25km away on Angas Creek Road in Birdwood an hour after the alleged break-in.

It was allegedly stolen from the inner-Adelaide suburb of Brompton the week before.

Police were called to the Gorge Road pub at 6am, after an employee arrived at work to find the result of a break-in and the ATM missing.

A few hours later, a local called police after they found the front of the ATM on Tippett Road in Millbrook about 8.30am.

The remainder ATM was found 8 kilometres away on Checker Hill Road in Kersbrook at 11am on Sunday.

A small amount of money had been stolen from the damaged ATM.

Crime Scene Investigators attended the scene to gather forensic evidence.

The ATM has been returned to the victim.

Detectives have released CCTV of a suspect allegedly involved in the break-in and theft and are urging anyone with information to come forward to police.
