THE gavel is about come down on one of the biggest public sales in Toowoomba's history.
An auction of the former Wellcamp Downs horse stud will start at 9am tomorrow as owner Wagners clears the site to make way for the runway of its jet-capable Wellcamp Airport.
Elders Toowoomba principal Trevor Leishman said everything must go - and he meant it.
Everything from the property's 80 stables to its tractors and hay balers must be removed before the grading of the runway can continue.
Even the complex's four brick homes and machinery sheds will go under the hammer.
"There has been a lot of interest for everything, especially from the agricultural sector," Mr Leishman said.
Even if their pockets are not deep enough to bring home an item, the auction will provide a chance for Toowoomba residents to see the burgeoning airport development.
"It will be a great opportunity for people to get a picture of what the airport will look like when it is built," Mr Leishman said.
"Also, to come and get their last look of the stud as they knew it."
The on-site auction will be held at the Cecil Plains Rd property in Wellcamp at 9am tomorrow.
