AN EXTENSIVE arsenal of firefighting assets are being used to attack and contain the Pechey bushfire which has torn through more than 15,000 hectares in the past eight days.
Backing up the 118 personnel from 43 combatant firefighting vehicles on the fireground are 12 aerial support assets, Acting Inspector John Welke said.
That includes seven fixed-wing water bombers and two rotary wing bombers.
Three observation and air-attack platforms are keeping watch for spotfires and reporting flare ups to ground crews.
"We also have four heavy plant made up of council graders and private contractor dozers," he said.
Water tankers from the Toowoomba Regional Council are also on-scene.
