ALAN Jones has responded to an invitation to see Toowoomba's largest developments first-hand with an invitation of his own.
The 2GB radio announcer will accept the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce and Industry's invitation, with one stipulation.
"You should know that I'm more than happy to come to Toowoomba and I've indicated that to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry," he said.
"But I won't be going anywhere while ever Wagner, Antonio and Macfarlane decline to answer questions on my program.
"It has an enormous reach across Australia, 77 stations.
"They are wondering what these three people have to hide."
Mr Jones has been an outspoken critic of Wagners' construction of Wellcamp Airport and the council process which led to its approval.
Chamber chief executive officer Greg Johnson said discussions were moving ahead.
He planned to hold a public forum, hosted by an "impartial" moderator, with Mayor Paul Antonio and Wagners chairman John Wagner on the panel.
Channel 9 presenter Andrew Lofthouse has been suggested as a possible moderator.
Member for Groom Ian Macfarlane has rejected an offer to speak.
"We don't want to bring Jones here just to crucify him - this is about having a conversation," Mr Johnson said.
"This would be good for the chamber and good for the city.
"He might have a different opinion after he listens to the other side of the story."
