Police are investigating the suspicious killing of bulls at a Far North Queensland cattle station.

At least four bulls from a Marreba cattle station are suspected to have been shot dead.

It’s understood an unknown person or group of people unlawfully entered the cattle station to shoot the livestock.

The incident was first reported to the Queensland Police by the station owners on April 1 2025 after the dead bull was found on the property.

But it’s suspected the shooting occurred around March 17 2025, as the bull was not discovered for weeks after the incident.

The Queensland Police Service said anyone with information regarding the incident should contact Crime Stoppers or the Mareeba Rural and Stock Squad.

“Police are committed to protecting the livelihood of rural communities and urge anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area to come forward,” said a statement from QPS.

“All reports can be made anonymously.”
