A Territory policewoman who allegedly attacked another person will remain on the police payroll, but suspended from duties, ahead of her first local court hearing.
NT Police confirmed on Wednesday that a 33-year-old Constable had been charged with aggravated assault and issued with a notice to appear before Darwin Local Court.
It is alleged the female officer was off-duty at the time of the alleged assault in March.
Details about the location of the assault, the age of the alleged victim, the exact date, were not provided in the official release.
“This update is in accordance with the NT Police Transparency Guidelines,” the release said.
The NT Police officer has been suspended with pay and is due to appear in Darwin Local Court in late June.
