Drivers have been left shaken and one man was forced to crash his car in the chaos after a series of bizarre incidents on a major road.

Rocks have been thrown at drivers from an overpass in a series of bizarre incidents in the Victorian city of Geelong.

The worrying attacks took place along the city’s Ring Rd throughout June in three separate incidents of rocks being thrown from the Creamery Rd overpass.

A 42-year-old man’s car was hit with a rock when he was travelling southbound along the Ring Rd on June 22 shortly after 6am.

He was not injured.

The next day a 52-year-old sustained minor injuries when his front windscreen was struck by two rocks as he travelled under the overpass about 2am.

He was forced to swerve the car, which swiped a barrier.

On June 29, a 70-year-old man and his 69-year-old wife were travelling in separate cars when rocks struck the windscreen and bonnet of the first vehicle and the roof of the second vehicle.

The couple were extremely shaken from the 10.20pm incident.

Police are appealing for any witnesses around the Ring Rd area at the time of these incidents.

Police also urge anyone who sees suspicious activity in the area to contact Crime Stoppers or triple-0.
