A woman has sparked debate after she warned men she will dob them in if they like her bikini photos.

Maddison Lieberwirth took to social media with a very stark warning for her male followers; if you like one of her bikini photos or selfies and you’re in a relationship, she will tell your girlfriend.

“I am not one to play. I will tell your girlfriend that you liked my story,” she said.

“‘Oh my god, guy with long term girlfriend liked my story’ — no, you’re a weasel and you’re a bit of a loser and I will tell your girlfriend, you cheating sack of potatoes.

“I’m not the one. Get off Instagram because you’re embarrassing.”

The discussion about whether or not it’s OK to like someone else’s social media posts while in a relationship has taken on a life of it’s own in recent years.

Some say it isn’t cheating, some say that it is however news.com.au’s sexologist Isiah McKimmie said that it doesn’t matter whether or not it is cheating but it’s the fact it makes you uncomfortable.

“While some ‘cheating’ is really clear, what classifies as betrayal or inappropriate interactions will be slightly different for everyone,” she said.

“Not all ‘cheating’ involves sex or even physical contact. Some infidelity is emotional. ‘Digital cheating’ or ‘cyber infidelity’ is still considered cheating to many people.

“Cheating is really anything that breaks boundaries (both explicit and implied) and trust in your relationship.”

Maddison’s declaration divided social media with some praising her actions while others claimed she was overreacting.

“This is basic girl code that has been lost over the years. Love your work sis,” one social media user commented.

Another added: “REAL. There’s absolutely no reason for a man in a relationship to like other women’s selfies. Literally no reason at all. You go girl.”

“My personal fave is liking the only pic on their profile of them and their girlfriend before I do it,” one added.

Others disagreed with the praise, with one saying the like was simply a “compliment”.

“How is that cheating,” one asked.

Another said: The conflict between the need for validation and then complaining when getting it is wild.”

“Look at Miss Morality here! All dudes do it, get over it,” another said.
