TikTok video unveils what it’s like to leave nits untreated after girl suffered for three years

A TikTok video has gone viral after sharing the removal of a level 10 head lice infestation on a young girl.

The Lice Angels explained how they came across a client who had been suffering from nits and superbugs in her dark hair for three long years before receiving professional help.

What head lice look like if left untreated

"We're going to take you on a journey of her lice removal treatment here,” the lice removal expert explained in the video, which is captioned: "Three years of LICE & millions of super bugs in little girls hair."

While there’s no explanation as to why the girl’s hair had been left this way, the expert explained a total of five treatments would be needed to completely rid the hair of the common bugs.

“We applied the treatment and everything is already dead. Everything is organic, all natural. It smells really really good and it also has vitamins loaded into this treatment. That way it's also nourishing the hair and it's cleaning the hair,” she added.

The video then showed the expert parting the hair to show how easily the eggs are removed with the treatment and comb.

“You can see how easily it comes out… you don’t see anything left behind.”

Parents share their concerns over the viral video

Shortly after posting, the video went viral with over 490K likes and over 10K comments, mostly from other parents scratching their heads (pun intended) over how the family didn’t notice the infestation.

“3 years?! That’s neglect. Just no – It’s so bad. As a parent, this bothers me deeply,” one follower shared.

“At this point, it’s the parents’ fault,” another added.

Meanwhile, others were just heartbroken that no one had helped the little girl sooner.

“This breaks my heart,” one person commented.

Another agreed: “That is so heartbreaking to see. That poor girl has clearly been neglected, no good parent would let their child suffer like this for years.”
