Sydney delivery driver's 'lazy' act has people fuming

Whilst some are saying the driver should be reported, others think it's no big deal.

Handle with care? Delivery driver sparks outrage for tossing package

Ordering things online is always a bit of a gamble.

First of all, you need to make sure you’re getting things from a reliable website. Then, you have to battle with shipping - will it even arrive on time? Then, the final hurdle - the delivery driver.

One Sydney local has exposed their delivery driver’s awful act, and it seems many people can relate.

“Don’t break my stuff!”

A Sydney resident has taken to Reddit to expose a delivery driver.

In the video, the driver is seen walking up to the person’s front yard before throwing their package up to the door, snapping a flower in their garden on the way out.

“Delivery drivers that are like this…” the post said.

“I understand that they are in a rush but don't break my stuff. Breaking the flower on the way back to his car is just cu#$ish.”

“What a prick”

Commenters were quick to agree with the poster, saying delivery drivers shouldn’t be treating packages this way.

“The guy snapped your plant on the way out...WTF??? He must hate his job, what a prick,” one commenter said.

“It’s never ok to throw someone’s paid delivery. That’s callous disregard for property and blatant laziness. I’d report that d*ckhead, complete with video. There’s plenty of other people who’d like that job,” said another.

Others shared similar experiences they’ve had with their delivery drivers.

“The other day I ‘missed’ a delivery where the driver used the excuse ‘locked gate’. Dude, our gate doesn't even close, let alone lock. Nice try,” one said.

“Ugh, got the ‘sorry we missed you’ today…….while I was home of course. Fly screen locked, but had left the main door unlocked and slightly ajar. Once second of observation would’ve been obvious someone was home. It’s such rubbish. These a**holes need to be called out and penalised,” another said.

“at least he threw it on your doorstep not in the garden like mine do sometimes,” a third agreed.

“You get what you paid for!”

Other commenters, however, said that the driver's act in the video was no big deal.

“He dropped off the package and took a photo, looks fine. Next time click and collect or get a po box,” said one commenter.

“Mate. It's a low paid job and cheap shipping, you pay for what you get. If it's something that's fragile get it shipped through a proper means,” a second agreed.

Some even shared positive stories around their delivery drivers, proving maybe the trend isn’t so widespread after all.

“I feel like the only person who has an awesome postie. He either shuts/hides it behind my (dodgy) security door, in the cupboard out front or behind the pot plants. He’ll also call my name out if the door’s open,” one said.

“My local delivery guys are god tier :) got a couple of regulars we know by name. They get a couple of 6 packs for Christmas every year,” another commenter added.
