A serial seductress who fled to Mexico after allegedly drugging and robbing several elderly men in a three-year Las Vegas scamming spree has been caught by authorities.

Mexican police arrested Aurora Phelps, 43, who is accused of using dating apps to seduce, drug, and steal the identities of men between 2019 and 2022.

She allegedly fleeced her victims for hundreds of thousands of dollars and is linked to three of their deaths — one of which she is being charged for.

“This is a romance scam on steroids,” said Spencer Evans, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Las Vegas division. “We believe Aurora Phelps deliberately and methodically targeted older men to drug them and steal from them.”

Phelps, who is in custody in Mexico, faces 21 counts including wire fraud, identity theft, and one count of kidnapping resulting in death, Sue Fahami, the acting US attorney for the District of Nevada, said.

Phelps — whose criminal aliases included “Flores”, “Velasco” and “Alvarez” — targeted men in their 60s and 70s, but she also duped younger victims and occasionally women, the agency said.

“Once she incapacitated her victims, Phelps stole their cars, accessed their bank and brokerage accounts to withdraw cash, used their credit cards to make a variety of purchases, including luxury retail goods and gold, and even attempted to access their Social Security and retirement accounts,” Mr Evans said.

One victim awoke from a coma after Phelps gave him prescription sedatives over the course of a week, Mr Evans said.

“I am looking for friends. No fake people,” the seductress advertised on her Tinder profile under the name “Sisy”.

At some point, Phelps fled south of the border, but she was arrested by Mexican police and is currently awaiting extradition to the US.

Despite having identified several victims, authorities believe they have only scratched the surface of Phelps’ scamming spree.

The FBI posted photos of the seductress on its website along with a call for her victims to come forward.
