As the weather cools down, a simple solution to guarantee a warm tummy for kids at school is packing a hot lunch.
However, what isn’t so simple is working out a quality yet affordable storage solution that’s going to keep the food warm without any spills.
ALDI shoppers think they’ve found just that, with a lunch box dupe arriving at the supermarket that costs just a fraction of the real deal.

“ALDI for the win here!”
An Aussie mum has taken to the ALDI Mums Facebook group raving about a lunch box she picked up at the supermarket as part of their newest Special Buys range.
“Run- go to ALDI today and get the lunch boxes with the thermos inside. For hot food that stays piping hot!” she said.
“These are identical to the OMIE boxes, I have them, bought these and compared. Same stainless steel rating thermos, lid closure, box.
“At $29.99 these are 1/3rd the cost. RUN.”
The lunch box is the Bento Box with Insulated Food Jar, designed to store hot and cold food separately and securely.
“They are the closest knock off I have seen. There is no difference in the lunchbox. I know I have had OMIE for years. There is no difference except; the colours are not as bright & there is no seal around the inside of lunchbox,” the woman continued in the comments.
“Same thermos stainless steel grade. That’s what matters for hot food.
“Best I’ve seen - ALDI for the win here.”
“I need these!”
Commenters on the post were thrilled with the find - saving them money on the original OmieBox, which costs upwards of $70.
“ooo I need these,” said one keen commenter.
“I got two of them. Hoping they’re good but happy they’re dishwasher safe where as the other thermos jar ones aren’t apparently,” said another, already influenced.
The lunch box comes in blue, green, and orange/pink.
But, it may not be available for much longer - so be quick!
But wait... there's more!
If you miss out on these ones, keep an eye out for ALDI's now-viral Kid's Food Flask, on sale at the supermarket for just $9.99.
The product has a 300mL capacity and comes with the spoon attached (just like the real deal) - perfect for both hot and cold lunches heading to school.
"Love having a warm lunch in winter!" said one Facebook user about the product.
"Wow I need to get one. That's ideal for travelling. I don't always want to buy food or take away," another agreed.
"What a bargain!" said a third.
