A new mum came under fire after sharing the unique name she chose for her daughter.
People compared the moniker to the noise a cat makes while choking.
In a post on Reddit, one user shared the unusual name that she had seen announced by a Facebook friend about their newborn, The Sun reported.
“Thank you Lord God for the safe arrival of our Princess,” the unnamed woman wrote in her birth announcement.
While “Princess” may not seem like a strange thing to call a young girl, the mum revealed that it was more than just a term of endearment.
“Welcome to the world baby Princess Khyth,” she said.
The original poster was less than impressed with the baby name choice.
“Who needs vowels, right?” the Reddit user asked in the title of their post.
Other Redditors shared their thoughts on the unique baby name pick in the comments section.
“Sounds like the sound my cat makes choking up a hairball,” wrote one reader.
“Imagine trying to get hired with that name,” pointed out another person.
“That poor wee baby, it’s a terrible name,” commented a third Reddit user.
Others debated on how the unique name is supposed to be pronounced.
“I feel like I am having a stroke when trying to figure out how to say this,” wrote one commenter.
“I first read Keith but [thought] surely not. Retried and got Kith and that’s not better,” said another person.
“My brain wants it to be some variant of Katie based on just site reading, but it just can’t get there,” commented one reader.
“Maybe all the letters are silent and she’s just Princess?” suggested another Redditor.
“I think they were aiming for Princess Kate with a lisp,” joked one reader.
“First I read it as Khyth (rhymes with wife), then I read it a Khyth (as in kiss but with a lisp), then I put my phone down because this gave me a headache,” said another person.
“I read it like Mike Tyson would say kiss,” commented one Reddit user.
“First name Princess? At least it’s spelled correctly,” pointed out another commenter.
“Yes, that’s so confusing to me. They can spell Princess, and then just threw some letters together to complete the name?” asked one reader.
