Ashy Bines has hit out at trolls who have targeted her with cruel comments about the size of her baby bump.

The Gold Coast influencer announced late last month she was expecting her second child after struggling to conceive and has been celebrating her pregnancy in a series of social media posts.

Last week, Ashy shared a post revealing she had reached the 13 week mark, posing in a singlet and undies while cradling her baby bump.

But in an Instagram post on Tuesday Ashy revealed she had been called “stupid, silly, dramatic” for holding her belly in photos because of the size of her bump.

She also pointed out that she hadn’t started to show with her son Taj until she was 22 weeks along.

“It’s 2021 I thought mum shaming was a thing of the past, something I experienced when I was pregnant 7 years ago with Taj but nope,” Ashy wrote.

“Already having mum hate come at me because of the size of my belly? Like there is a ‘right’ or ‘normal’ size to be?”

Ashy said that as everyone’s bodies were differently women “show diff (sic) and hold a baby differently”.

“I think EVERY pregnant belly is beautiful no matter what and something we should all be uplifting and embracing with each other, pregnant is literally a miracle and so special,” she wrote.

While Ashy said that she “can’t count” the amount of negative messages she has received about her baby bump it was “something I’ll never get sick of feeling proud to show”.

Despite the negativity, Ashy said she had also received “hundreds” more comments showing “love, support and encouragement”.

Ashy’s post was flooded with support from her followers, who slammed the negative comments she had received about her bump.

“You’re beautiful inside and out – pregnant or not,” one person wrote.

“When I was pregnant with my first baby I was holding my belly at 4 weeks,” another commented.

“I was in love the day I found out about my son. Some people need to chill.”

Back in September, Ashy shared a heartfelt video on her Instagram revealing her struggle to conceive.

While she felt “so damn lucky” to be already be a mum, Ashy revealed she had been “carrying some sort of shame or embarrassment” over her struggle to have another child.

I kept telling myself I shouldn’t be upset, just get over it and be grateful I have Taj and I always think of any other couple or mum wanting one beautiful baby in their arms,” Ashy wrote.

“Which I AM so grateful for him, Every single day, I’m the luckiest mum on earth, but it doesn’t make the pain of disappointment or sadness feel any lighter each month that we aren’t pregnant.”

Secondary infertility, or struggling to conceive after previously having a baby is thought to be as common as primary infertility.

According to The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) around one in six Australian couples will experience difficulties conceiving a child.
