'Perv': My father-in-law is obsessed with my breastmilk so I confronted my MIL

"I was so shocked at what she replied," the woman said in the viral post.

Tips for breastfeeding

A new mum has taken to the internet to share how her father-in-law has a weird fascination with her breastmilk

Posting to a parenting forum, she explained how the culmination of various incidents, including making inappropriate comments in their family group chat and eating her breastmilk muffins, ultimately led her to confront his wife.

But her MIL's unlikely response has left her well and truly shaken and vowing to never let her FIL around her again.

The post, titled: "Am I The A**hole for calling my FIL a pervert?" has left the internet debating the importance of boundaries and respect and has racked up whopping 17k likes and 2.3k comments.

An uncomfortable group chat exchange

The woman begins by explaining that she is currently breastfeeding her seven-month-old son and she's convinced that her FIL is "being weird about it," in more than just a "this makes me uncomfortable way."

The first red flag appeared when he started making weird remarks in the family's group chat.

"I made the baby popsicles from my boob milk a few months ago and FIL put in the group chat that, 'I'd love to try one of those. 😍'I said, 'WTF they're made from breast milk,' and he said he didn't notice that caption," she explains.

She thought it was odd at the time but it wasn't until something else happened that she really got a clear picture of the FIL's creepy obsession.

A weird muffin incident

"Today I baked the baby some muffins. It's a recipe that called for a half cup of breast milk so I made them per recipe," she says. "FIL came over unannounced and said, 'Oh yum, someone's been baking,' so I told him, 'Those muffins are for the baby, they're just fruit, flour and breast milk. I have a normal cake we can have'."

The mum then ducked out of the room to wash her hands but when she returned, one of the muffins was missing.

Her FIL admitted to eating it, which prompted the mum to tell him he was, "disgusting."

"I told him again that they were the baby's breast milk muffins," she recalls, but he doubled-down and said that it was okay because "breastmilk is vegan."

OKAY mate, NOT the point here but moving along...

She eventually tells him that he's a "pervert" and to get out of her house.

'My MIL told me she had to lock the door when she used to breastfeed'

After the incident, her FIL called her a "dick" because she had made "loads so the baby wouldn't miss out."

Again sir, NOT the point here.

Meanwhile, her husband was left baffled by the whole situation.

The poster then decided to call her MIL to explain to her what went down.

"She revealed that my FIL has always been 'very interested' in lactation and she actually only fed my husband when he was a baby for four months and always behind a locked door!" she says.

And in addition to this revelation, her MIL also said that her husband was forced to move jobs after, "a woman complained that he kept intruding on her pumping in a designated space in the office."

The woman then decided that her FIL wasn't welcome around her anymore and asked to have the key to their house back.

"I told him that if his own wife wanted him locked out then I'm entitled to that too," she concluded.

'This post literally triggered my gag reflex'

Someone summed up the absurdity of the thread by saying, "What a terrible day to have eyes," while someone else added, "I was just thinking, 'What a shame that I'm literate'."

But others used the comment section to support the mum and reassure her that she's not in the wrong at all.

"NTA. How hard is it to NOT eat boob milk muffins, dude," the top comment read.

"The fact that he said that the baby won't miss out on the muffins...WTF, like why is he tracking how much breastmilk you produce and why does he think he has a right to it? The entitlement is off the charts," someone else replied.

"This is disgusting and highly inappropriate," someone else wrote.

And then someone else suggested, "You should fully cut him out of your life and your husband should support this."

"This post literally triggered my gag reflex," added another.
