Mum arrested after son's bully sips "doctored drink"
The alleged victim, an 11-year-old boy, was hospitalised with headaches and nausea after drinking a non-toxic mix the mum allegedly planted in her son's water bottle.

A mum who allegedly gave her son a mixed drink in an effort to deter bullies from stealing it has been arrested and charged.
CBS News reports Jennifer Lynn Rossi, 45, from San Antonio, Texas, was charged with injury to a child causing bodily injury after an 11-year-old student developed headaches and nausea after consuming the drink.
Police say Ms Rossi combined lemon, salt and vinegar and put them in her son’s water bottle after he complained that another student had stolen his drink.

While none of the ingredients are toxic, it is understood the student who drank it was hospitalised.
“Whether the allegations of bullying at the root of this situation are substantiated or not, there is never an excuse to take matters into your own hands and injure a child,” Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said.

CBS News reports police were initially called to an elementary school in Alamo Ranch, a suburb on the western outskirts of San Antonio, to reports a child was sick.
Once they arrived, police learned the child was given a “doctored drink” by a classmate during gym class.
CBS News reports the 11-year-old alleged victim told police he took a large sip of the drink before he spat it out because it “tasted bad”.

He later developed a headache and started to feel nauseous, so he was taken to hospital as a precaution.
He has since been discharged from the hospital and is doing well.

Mum takes "full responsibility" for incident
CBS News reports Ms Rossie has posted bond since her arrest, and told police she was a nurse so she knew the mixture she made was non-toxic.
“Jennifer Rossi stated she takes full responsibility for what happened,” her arrest warrant reads.
An official from Ms Rossi’s child’s school said her son would face “disciplinary actions in accordance with Legacy policies governing student conduct”.
