It’s indisputable that the lead-up to a couple’s wedding day can be extremely stressful and intense.
Some have been planning their weddings since they were little, so when the big day comes around, the tension is palpable.
Not only do you want everything to go perfectly, but many try their hardest to flawlessly recreate the image they have in their heads.
But one’s bride’s expectations have exceeded expectations,

“As you know this is going to be a very different wedding…”
Sabrina* was over the moon when her friend Gigi* asked her to be a part of her bridal party.
The wedding was months away, but Gigi had already kicked off her planning; she had been planning it since she was “in diapers,” so it was kind of a big deal.

To start everything off, Gigi sent a long text to her bridal party, welcoming the girls to the sacred group.
“As you know this is going to be a very different wedding,” she said, per the Reddit post.
Much to everyone’s surprise, Gigi had already selected the bridesmaids’ dresses for the entire bridal party, without talking to the rest of the group first.

But before anyone was allowed to think of trying them on, Gigi had some strict rules.
“Just a few things to ask,” she said. “I hand-picked all the dresses and bridesmaids that will be there, and they will all be a size 8.”
Gee, it’s a good thing everyone in the bridal party is the same size … right?
“If you’re not a size 8, I recommend hitting the gym,” Gigi said. Oh.
Before you get your pitchforks out, relax, Gigi had very good reasons for this up her sleeve.
“No offense to anyone but I have had this planned since I was in diapers and want it perfect,” she said.
Oh, well, now it’s a different story!

If you thought being forced to shed a few kilos was bad enough, strap in, because Gigi’s demands weren’t over just yet.
She expected all her bridesmaids to have their nails “cut short and uncoloured”, which isn’t an out-of-this-world expectation, honestly. They’re also not allowed to have fake tans, which is also a not overly unreasonable request.
But not only does Gigi expect anyone who doesn’t fit in her size 8 dress to shed some kilos, but they also have to give their locks a big lop. “Hair needs to be shoulder length and straightened, so if your hair is short, get extensions,” she said.
She interrupted her long list of expectations to clarify that her best friend wouldn’t be her maid of honour and “is just going to be a guest”, and while she didn’t specify a reason, we’re pretty sure we know why.
And once you’ve changed everything about yourself to fit into her watertight expectations, you’re about to lose even more.
“One last thing,” Gigi said. “I’ll be sending my [bank details] to the ones who haven’t paid the $500 donation towards honeymoon in Hawaii.”
“Love you guys, can’t wait to be a wifey!”

“No way I would ever concede to her ridiculous demands”
The Reddit community couldn’t wrap their heads around the outrageous expectations Gigi had for the rest of her bridesmaids.
Some thought it was plain “tacky.”
“I can’t imagine being friends with someone like this in the first place, but if someone asked me to lose weight for their wedding, I wouldn’t even attend as a guest,” someone said.
“I wonder how many people have backed out,” another wondered.
“Hell no,” wrote a third. “That would earn an immediate response from me backing out of being in the bridal party. I wouldn't even go to the wedding after that.”
Others thought her “bridezilla” attitude was some of the most extreme they’d seen.
“WTF, her entitlement is insane,” a woman said. “No way I would ever concede to her ridiculous demands.”
“And don't forget to pay for the donation,” laughed another.
