A self-confessed ‘scammer’ has rubbished allegations she ripped off a sick young boy.
Six-year-old Mateoh suffers from a rare disease called haemolytic anaemia, and his mother Shalyn Eggleton started fundraising to help pay for the little boy’s treatments.
A Current Affairreports another woman, Shy Batchelor - whose real name is Shaianne - is accused of taking advantage of little Mateoh’s disease for her own gain.

However, the woman claims it’s all a big misunderstanding.

No products or money for Mateoh
Shalyn told ACA donations to help her son had disappeared since Shaianne contacted her offering to sell products to help raise money.
She said Shaianne wanted to design a ‘superhero’ teddy bear with 100 per cent of the profits going to Mateoh.
“Also a whole other heap of products and items on this store-slash-business, 25 per cent would go to Mateoh,” Shalyn told ACA.
Some followers of Mateoh’s Facebook page bought the teddy bears and other products, but within weeks were telling Shalyn they had not received any product, and Mateoh hadn’t received any money.
Shalyn told ACA she would like to see Shaianne’s bank account to see if she had received the money, and said she’d reported her to police.

"It's definitely not a scam"
However, Shaianne defended herself to ACA, blaming drop-shipping for the lack of products.
“I have scammed a few people in the past - never ever a sick child,” she said.
“It’s definitely not a scam, I can understand obviously why people assume it, but it’s not a scam.
“It was a drop-shipping thing, it wasn’t me personally designing those bears for him.”

"It's just as much of a shock to me"
She also claimed people had reported her fundraiser to Shopify when they saw her name attached.
“Shopify had closed it down so it could not get investigated due to all the reports coming in saying it was a scam, and that’s basically what completely ruined the whole thing,” she told ACA.
“It’s just as much of a shock to me as it is to everybody else.”
Shaianne told the programme people had started to receive refunds for the products, but Shalyn was adamant nobody had received any money.
“I’m sorry that you think I’ve scammed your little boy, but it wasn’t like that at all,” Shaianne said.
