Dad 'rescues' son from daycare behind mum's back for divisive reason

The clip of them busting out and running hand in hand to the car has been viewed more than 3 million times.

A mum of two has shared video of her husband busting their son out of daycare, just minutes after getting there.

 

Jenny Ho posted the clip to her TikTok with the text, "Watching your soft husband sneak our son out of preschool at the first sign of a tear when he thought I wasn't looking."

It's a funny, adorable moment between a father and son - but it also divided the comments section.

"When it comes to our kids, he's a total softy"

"I sighed but also laughed because it's totally on-brand with my husband to do that," Ho told Newsweek.

"When it comes to our kids, he's a total softy. We're a good balance, as I usually try to stick to the routines and push them to do hard things."

The mum explained that because her and Wilson's son was a "pandemic isolation baby", the transition to daycare was bigger for him.

She added that the first day had gone well, but the second day is when it really hit home.

"He had a hard time letting go of us, and because I started tearing up, I said my goodbyes and walked out of the classroom so he wouldn't see me upset. But his dad stayed.

"My daughter's school is next door, and I noticed they were at recess, so I walked over to see if I could spot her as I waited for Wilson. A couple minutes later, I turned back toward the preschool and caught them two running off to the car."

Being seasoned with her phone, Ho managed to capture the moment, and the clip now has more than 3 million views.

"I want a husband like this"

Viewers loved the heartwarming moment, and appreciated the humour in the situation.

As one said, "This is just a dad making memories with his son," with another adding, "This is so funny and sweet."

But not everyone respected the dad's move: "Your son needs to learn how to cope in any situation. He isn’t doing him any good. Now your son knows how to manipulate and get his way. You are not his friend you are a parent."

And some comments were outright cruel.

"Beta teaching an innocent child to be a beta. No wonder the world is where it is," read one low blow.

Another example was, "Next time maybe marry a man ………just saying."

Luckily, many could relate to the moment, and shared their own experiences.

"My dad did the exact same thing. I am 29 and I still remember this," one viewer happily wrote.

And we loved this comment: "As a dad, I'd do the same thing. Some people in these comments never experienced love as a kiddo and it shows."

Finally, this person said: "This is so beautiful to watch, to see fathers and their children making fun and loving memories together.

"I want a husband like this."
