The extent of the injuries suffered by Miss Jamaica Universe following a serious onstage accident last month have been revealed.

Dr Gabrielle Henry, who was crowned Miss Jamaica Universe 2025, fell through an opening on the stage during the preliminary round of the competition in Bangkok on November 19.

The 29-year-old had been competing in the swimsuit, national costume and evening gown rounds to make the final round.

However moments into her walk she stumbled before dramatically plunging off the edge of the stage and to the ground below.

Audience members screamed as they watched on, reacting to the dramatic fall. Some even jumped up from the seats, rushing to help the Jamaican beauty queen.

A short time after her tumble, Dr Henry could be seen being carried backstage on a stretcher in a separate clip posted online. She was immediately rushed to hospital in Bangkok.

The Miss Universe Organisation has now shared an update on the state of Dr Henry’s injuries.

She suffered “an intracranial haemorrhage with loss of consciousness, a fracture, facial lacerations and other significant injuries.”

Dr Henry continues to receive 24-hour specialised medical care and will soon return to Jamaica under full medical supervision, according to her family and the organisation.

“From the time the incident took place, the Miss Universe Organisation has stood beside Gabrielle and her family as if she were their own, assuming full and immediate responsibility without hesitation,” the Miss Universe Organisation statement said.

“The Organisation has covered all hospital, medical, and rehabilitation expenses in Thailand, as well as the accommodation and living costs for Dr. Henry’s mother and sister, who have remained by her side throughout this difficult period.

“In addition, the Miss Universe Organisation is funding the medically escorted repatriation flight arranged by the hospital and has committed to covering all future medical expenses arising from this incident.”

The statement also condemned media reports that suggested Dr Henry contributed to her fall in any way.

“The Miss Universe Organisation has never attributed blame to Dr Henry and confirms that those suggestions are unfounded and do not reflect the facts,” the spokesperson said.
