Smiles, laughter, giggles and heart-melting gooing are just a few of the moments that make up the magic of the first year of life.
Whether you are a first-time parent or a grandparent, welcoming another life into your family is something worth celebrating.
Taking a moment to these glorious little smiles, meet the five cherubs who stole our subscribers’ hearts.
1. Cailin Ford
Taking first place with a landslide of votes make up 24 per cent is 5-month old Cailin Ford.
Described by her dad Matthew Ford as “very sweet with an infectious smile and laugh”.
“She’s a very placid baby and very happy,” he said.
Cailin is the youngest of four and is very spoiled by her older sisters, 18-year-old Aaliyah, 12-year-old Harli, and 9-year-old Winry.
Her dad said that the funniest thing to watch is when she aggressively jumps in her jolly jumper or spins around in her activity centre.
2. Theodore Watson
Coming in second with 7 per cent of votes is 6-month old Theodore.
He is described as the “happiest baby you’ll ever meet” by his mother Madison Watson.
“We love how loving he is – he’s got a sweet soul and will make you smile even when you’re feeling down,” she said.
The funniest and cutest thing he does is blow bubbles, but he’s quickly learning other “tricks” as he gets older, she said.
This bub lives in Harristown and has a two-and-a-half year old brother.
3. Nova Donnelly
Coming in third, only one vote behind Theodore, and tied with Khylah Suey, is 7-month old Nova Donnelly.
“Nova is curious, bright, and bubbly”, said her mum Schapelle Whitbread.
“She is also known to be a bit sassy as well,” she said.
Having just started to master her first words, one of the funniest things little Nova does is “rouse on the dogs” in her own words.
She loves trying different foods, with her favourite being avocado and she loves swimming in the pool, Ms Donnelly said.
“Nova is loved by all family for her little outgoing personality,” she said.
4. Khylah Suey
Tying with Nova, also only one vote behind second place, is 6-month old Khylah Suey.
The first baby of Alicia Tanner and Makaihya Suey, Khylah has a “cheeky tongue poke” that comes out most of the time when she smiles, which in turn makes her giggle, her mum said.
“From the moment she arrived she’s been the most perfect angel,” Ms Tanner said.
“Her two cheeky dimples that show through are definitely our favourite thing about her.”
She is a “sweet kind of girl who loves sweet purees over savoury,” and started crawling when she was 5 months old.
5. Caide David Peters
Making it into the top five, and only shy of two votes of the other bubs, Caide is a “nearly 7-month old cheeky baby” with a sensitive personality who loves to be around family and people he knows, mum Payton Peters said.
The funniest thing he does is make a cute snort whenever he laughs, she said.
“He has the ability to make anyone smile no matter what he is doing ,” she said.
