A popular reality star, famed for a string of failed relationships with much younger women, has announced his shock engagement to his new fiancé — after he popped the question just 24-hours after they met.
Ed Brown, best known as “Big Ed” from 90 Day Fiancé, said it was “love at first sight” with his new bride-to-be Porscha Raemond.
The unlucky-in-love husband hopeful, who has been engaged three times previously, proposed to his new love just 24 hours after a chance encounter during a meet-and-greet at Capriotti’s sandwich shop in Florida last Friday.
“So I’m there carrying out these big sandwiches with sparklers. It’s crazy. And in walks this beautiful Italian dish. Her name is Porscha,” the 59-year-old told Page Six.
“She comes up, gives me the warmest hug. … She gives me a big kiss on the cheek.”
Brown said he immediately “hit it off” with the 20-year-old, describing her as his “dream girl”, before adding: “We felt the sparks.”
Brown — who became a public figure on Season 4 of the popular show which follows couples who’ve met online as they navigate the US spousal visa process — says he asked Raemond to dinner the following night where he promptly decided he wanted to marry her.
Though he did not have a ring – and their 30-year age-gap – his pal encouraged him to pop the question, the publication reported.
“I get down on one knee and everyone goes crazy. The restaurant was freaking out,” Brown recalled.
“I said, ‘Look I never want to let you go. I think I met the one. I want to marry you.’ And she said, ‘Yes,’ and we hugged and we kissed.”
“[We were] kissing and smooching the whole night,” the reality star added. “I’m in love.”
While Brown confirms that he proposed with a paperclip ring made by the restaurant manager, he revealed he has plans to purchase a sparkler that will match the quality of Tiffany & Co.
He also says he plans to take the engagement “slow” — revealing that the two have not even consummated the relationship.
“No, [we haven’t done anything], other than kissing, French kissing, which is a big deal,” Brown explained.
“If you’re kissing somebody with tongue it’s pretty important, right?”
And although his family believes the proposal was for “publicity,” insisted that this is the real deal for him.
“For me, this was the realest thing ever. For [my family], everybody is freaking out, including my daughter,” Brown said. “But in my heart … I can’t wait.”
The reality TV star shares his adult daughter, Tiffany, with his ex-wife, Sandra Heckman. They split in 1992 due to his infidelity, Page Six reported.
He later got engaged to Rosemarie “Rose” Vega on 90 Day Fiancé in 2020.
Following their break-up, he got engaged again to Liz Woods while filming a spin off show, 90 Day: The Single Life in 2021.
However, they had a rocky relationship after the show and split in April of this year.
Brown also lives with Klippel-Feil syndrome, “a condition in which you have two or more neck bones (vertebrae) fused together”, resulting in him having a short neck and larger-than-normal rib cage.
