Kourtney Kardashian claps back at ‘pregnancy’ photo

Kourtney Kardashian has issued a classy response to people speculating whether she’s “pregnant” in a recent Instagram post.

Kourtney Kardashian has clapped back at people speculating she’s “pregnant”, after sharing a photo of herself in a midriff baring top and fitted pants.

The 43-year-old has been transparent about her fertility journey with husband Travis Barker – previously sharing the couple started IVF in 2021, but had so far been unsuccessful – and the impact treatments have had on her body.

While many have praised the mum-of-three for her candour, it hasn’t stopped others from repeatedly questioning whether her changing body is a sign she’s expecting.

Responding to one such comment last week, Kardashian wrote: “The after effects of IVF. I only acknowledge this comment (because) I do think it’s important to know how IVF affects women’s bodies and it’s not spoken about much.

“Also are we still asking women if they’re pregnant?”

MJ Corey, who runs the Kardashian Kolloquim social media accounts, said in a TikTok that Kardashian’s post – and subsequent response to the pregnancy comment – was “disrupting Kardashian body image narratives”.

“You could perceive this as, you know, an act of resistance to the scrutiny that is constantly put on women’s bodies and for the hyper-photoshopped, very recently ‘Skinny Kardashians’ collectively,” Corey said.

“This is a different kind of picture to post, and I think the way that Kourtney is representing her body in the larger context of how Khloe and Kim have been is just kind of interesting.

“[Khloe and Kim] are currently dodging rumours that they’ve been utilising that diabetes drug to lose weight, but then Kourtney’s actions send a message that this is not a collective Kardashian phenomenon.”

In the comments of Corey’s video, many praised Kardashian for her “normal” body.

“She’s been like this forever. She leaves cellulite in photos, for example, and she is GORGEOUS,” one wrote.

“I think for sure she has her issues, but Kourtney has kept it pretty real about her body and I respect that,” commented another.

In an episode of The Kardashians last year, Kardashian told her mum, Kris Jenner, IVF hadn’t “been the most amazing experience” – adding the treatment’s impacts on her body had made her the subject of repeated pregnancy speculation stories and unnecessary comments online.

“I’m, like, it’s so rude to comment on people when you have no idea what they’re going through,” she said.

“The medication that they’ve been giving me, they put me into menopause.

“Literally into menopause.”

She told the The Wall Street Journal in September the couple had put a pause on treatments because the process was taking too much of a toll on her body.

Barker, meanwhile, told GQ in November that he and Kardashian made a decision to talk about IVF to normalise the process, especially for men who might be unaware of their part.

“If any of that can help people – seeing Kourtney’s journey through IVF, which is super hard for a woman. You saw her struggle with it and talk about it. That’s real,” he said.
